pink & green argyle

So one of my good friends, Kristi, had a baby recently. Baby Brightlie was born at 2:55am on November 10th. YAY! I made Kristi a BUNCH of adorable baby essentials in a cutsie pink and green argyle fabric:
Precious, right?!
Here is all I made: burp cloths, comfort blanket, diaper clutch (with changing pad and decorated wipes case), nursing cover, shopping cart cover, AND sling. Everything turned out perfect, see (warning: picture overload):
Shopping cart cover (seriously, so nice to have with a teething baby)
Comfort blanket (with ties for car seat or stroller)
Diaper clutch with wipes case and changing pad
On our way to deliver all of Kristi's gifts, we discovered a contribution from Joel:
ROAR!!!

joel

So this loving post is dedicated to the antics of Joel. The kid is out of control (in many ways). He STILL sticks everything in his mouth. This includes one of Robert's church books from his mission in Brazil. It looks like a dog got a hold of it...
Hope you didn't have any sentimental attachment to this, Robert...
This second one is my fault, but it still concerns Joel. The kid has a HUGE bladder. Which results in WET diapers. Out of control wet (I told you he was out of control in many ways). If Robert or I change Joel while upstairs, we usually just drop the wrapped-up diaper down to the bottom floor (since our hands are usually too full to carry it down with us). So, like every morning, I did so. Splat. I look down. Absorbing crystals everywhere. Joy.
Not the easiest thing to clean off the wall, carpet, or linoleum...
Finally, we have 100% baby-proofed the house, as can be seen in the following pictures:

YAY!

YAY to a few of my readers commenting (I feel a little bit loved again)! But the BIG YAY is for one of my best friends, Gina. She got married today. In the temple. It was beautiful. I made an adorable "kitchen cake" for her bridal shower.
SUPER cute and you know it!
I haven't given her the wedding gift yet; her reception is in Thatcher NEXT weekend (and she never looks at my blog, so it is safe to post pictures). But it is another handmade gift that I have put a lot of love into.
I even hand painted the "est. 2009" part. Fun.... not so much
I was excited to attend the sealing; the first live sealing since my own. It was beautiful. It made me appreciate the covenant so much more. Funny how you can concentrate better when you aren't the bride. She was glowing (someone told her even her eyes were glowing).
LOVED my flowers. Jumped up and down like a little girl when I got them.
And since some of you probably only look at my blog to see my boys, I've included two pictures that I took today for your viewing pleasure. They are stinkin' cute.
I love them (even if they are gi-normous)

Happenings

I haven't fallen off the face of the earth (though it seems as all my readers have, since I've only received like TWO comments since the post about giving birth. Thanks, friends)... I have just been EXTREMELY busy with Christmas things. Yes, that's right. Christmas. I'm getting it done NOW so I don't have to worry about it at 3am on Dec. 25th. I sewed three items in three days, but you'll have to wait until AFTER Christmas for pictures (on the off chance that those the gifts are intended for peek at my blog). I also made a fall craft for my mom.
Way cute. Wish I had one for my home. Maybe when fall items are on clearance...
My side of the family decided to celebrate this big guy turning one (yeah, a little late). Spoiled him with toys and cake.
And this little guy turned one month. Crazy. Still a little shocked he is here, given the super quick delivery...
We celebrated Halloween. Even took Joel "trick 'or' treating" to a few houses in my parents' neighborhood.
Our little ghost and skeleton. And OUR candy...
I learned how to do a new trick with html codes... Place your mouse over my picture.
Neat trick, huh? Gone. Check it out.
But the MOST exciting thing we've been up to? Having family pictures taken, of course (which were taken before the rollover photo above, obviously)! Once again Emily, you are amazing! Here is a preview:
And of just our new bundle of joy:
