Oh, and I seriously had to copy and paste this post into our family blog since the app defaulted the post into my gluten-free blog. Screwy.

Experiment
Okay friends. This is just a little experiment. I am currently posting from our (well, TECHNICALLY Robert's) new iPad. Got to say, the app for blogger is lame, seeing how it is actually an app for the iPhone. So my iPad is basically pretending to be an iPhone. I have no clue how I am going to post while on my trip... If you know of any iPad apps that would help with this, let me know. I would greatly appreciate not having to type on a keyboard the size of a matchbox...

5
Five more days, friends. You have five days [and five hours] to enter my GIVEAWAY. There are about a dozen friends that I know have not yet entered (don't make me call you out by name, because I so will). Seriously, what do you have to lose? At most, five minutes of your life. Am I not worth five minutes to you? You can't win if you don't play. Go enter.

6
Look who is 6 months old. Insane. Poor little guy, it was rather cold today. Even when we did his chalk picture after noon. But no worries; I laid out a heating pad on the cement before putting this precious bundle on the ground.
At 6 months, Daniel is right where he should be in terms of milestones. He is rolling all over the house. I often have to pull him out from under tables and chairs. He is sitting all on his own. He does really well while interested in something. Occasionally, he will lose interest or grow tired of sitting and will throw himself backwards. Needless to say, he has yet to develop a good transition to get himself out of the seated position. He is grabbing and playing with everything. My earrings. My phone. My laptop. My hair. My slippers. Everything. He is interacting with his big brothers. They make him smile and laugh. And he makes them smile and laugh, too. I. LOVE. it. He is a very happy baby. Dimples on both cheeks when he smiles. A joy to have in our family.
PS. If you haven't entered the giveaway, go do it. 8 more days.

our family
We had the wonderful opportunity to do a photo swap with one of my friends yesterday. Same friend that has done our family photos in the past. I did hers and she did mine. Edit our own. It was fun to have a casual session with both of our families. Especially since her little guy is just a week younger than Daniel. Here is our little family as it currently is:
And, because I couldn't resist just a little bit of play, I edited just two of Emily's pictures. Seriously, their little guy is precious. It is fun watching him and Daniel interact with one another.

close
When people make less-than-pleasant comments about my children being so close in age, I think of things like this. Things that I wouldn't trade for the world. Sure, they know how to push each others buttons (like any other set of siblings). But they are best friends. And do nearly everything together (including push MY buttons). I simply love it.
Freestone Park. We went with some friends to feed the ducks. And ended up at the playground. BIG shocker . . .

giveaway
Guess what. 25 days until my big adventure. Which also means it is time to start the long-awaited giveaway. I will get straight to the scoop.
There are three ways to enter, meaning you can have a total of three separate entries in the giveaway. Leave one comment per entry on THIS blog post. Here's what you gotta do:
1. GUESS where I am going -OR- if you know, simply say, "I know! I know!" (don't spoil the fun). Don't forget about the hints I gave you HERE. Remember, knowing or not knowing does not affect your chances of winning.
2. Spread the word about this giveaway via Facebook. Then come back and leave a comment saying you did so.
3. Like L. Root Photography on Facebook (selfish, I know. But in major need of a photography self-esteem boost). Then come back and leave a comment saying you did so.
Short and sweet. So what is the prize for winning the giveaway? TBD. Lame, I know. But I intend on dropping about $50 on whoever wins.
You have 15 days to enter. I will no longer accept entries after 5pm on Saturday, December 3rd (10 days until I leave). The winner will be announced on December 8th (5 days until I leave).
Ready . . . Set . . . GO!
*Open to continental U.S. residents only.

bah!
Okay. This is an unofficial post about my trip. 5 weeks out. And I am getting sooo excited. My parents fast-forwarded me my birthday present: a nice gift card to Old Navy. And boy did I go to town. The store was having a "friends and family sale", which meant my entire purchase was 30% off with a coupon. PLUS there was a 50% off outerwear sale in store. AND various other sales on different items. With my gift card and the boys' birthday gift cards combined, I walked out with $360 worth of clothing (pre-tax & pre-sales) WITHOUT SPENDING A DIME. In fact, I have $10 remaining on one of my gift cards. AND I earned $30 of SUPER C-A-S-H. Which means when I go back next week, I will be able to buy $60 worth of clothing by only spending $20. And I am okay with that. Oh, just so you know. I did not selfishly spend my boys' gift cards. I bought all three a nice haul of clothing. Some of which you will see in upcoming family photos. BAH. It was amazing. I never have luck like this. But I was in dire need of a thick coat for my trip. And, because of sales, look at what I scored. I will be fashionably warm.
Also, in conjunction with my travels, I want to clarify the upcoming giveaway (starts in 10 days). Everyone will be able to enter. Even if I don't know you. As long as you live in the US. There will be three ways to enter, which means you can up your chance of winning with the more you do. Whether or not you know where I will be traveling will NOT be an issue. And the winner will not be determined by a correct guess (or already knowing). I am just throwing the guessing part in for fun. Remember. You are entering to win a nice souvenir from my trip. One that I will pick out once I am there. And may determine once I know who the lucky winner is.
Ps. I have decided that I will not reveal where I am going until I am already there. I am planning on posting a YouTube video on my blog on my birthday. At which time you will learn where in the world I am. Dec. 16th (well, technically Dec. 15th for you because of time difference). Just over a month. That day will be awesome. For so many reasons.
